ASA NORTHWEST TOUR
ANNOUNCES SCHEDULE CHANGE
Aug. 15,
2007 Yakima, WA
– It
was announced today that the Labor Day weekend ASA Aero Exhaust race at
Yakima Speedway has had some adjustments made to the previous scheduled
season ending event. Ron Bennett, Tour Director stated “In the continuing
effort to save money for the teams and streamline the race season, the two
day ASA NW Tour portion of the weekend will now be one day and the
200-laps will be shortened to 150-laps. The Tour will race on Sunday,
September 2, 2007.”
The two day weekend of racing will get underway on Saturday, September 1
featuring the ARCA West Late Model Challenge Series and local divisions.
The two day format continues on Sunday with the ASA NW Tour being featured
on the 1/2-mile with local racing classes.
For those Northwest Tour teams that choose to do so, a few practice
sessions will be allowed on Saturday afternoon and again on Saturday
night.
The recent adjustments to the 2007 ASA NWT rules, allowing late model cars
to join the tour style car, will bring together many of the Northwest’s
premier stock car racers.
The first ever ASA Northwest Tour championship will be on the line. The
top three in points are separated by 12-points at this time. The Tour’s
next to last race is on Saturday night August 25 at Stateline Speedway in
Post Falls, Idaho and the season concludes at Yakima.
