ASA AERO EXHAUST NORTHWEST TOUR RETURNS TO IDAHO

June 2, 2007 Yakima, WA  The new edition of the Northwest Tour now known as the ASA Aero Exhaust Northwest Tour (ASANWT) returns to Post Falls, Idaho and Stateline Stadium/ Speedway on Saturday June 9, 2007. It has been 20-years (1987) since the last Tour event was held on the super fast high banked 1/4-mile oval.

The prestigious northwest touring drivers are excited about making the trek to this well known and run facility. For many of the current racers and teams of the ASANWT it will be the first time to race at Stateline Speedway. That is not the case for two of the drivers, Ron Eaton (Lakewood, WA) and Garrett Evans (E. Wenatchee, WA). They were both racing on the 1987 Northwest Tour.

A former tour driver Kevin Richards (Newman Lake, WA) will make his 2007 debut in a tour car at his home track. Also adding to the local mix will be Matt Hall (Spokane, WA) and Jeff Bird (Hayden, ID)

Just some of the other drivers expected for the Access Road Solutions 150-lap historic event are: point leaders Jay Sauls (Puyallup, WA) and Eaton. Tour veterans Brandon Riehl (Boring, OR), Travis Bennett (Ellensburg, WA), Jeff Barkshire (Auburn, WA), Jason Fraser (Snohomish, WA), BJ Tidrick (Yakima, WA) and Zan Sharp (Wellsville, UT).

Included with the best of the best Northwest Stock Car racers will be four former Northwest Tour Champions, Gary Lewis (Bothell, WA), Kelly Tanner (Auburn, WA) plus Evans and Eaton. This group accounts for a total of 10 of the 22 championships during the 22-year history of the Northwest Tour.

Sharp, Riehl and Barkshire are also spending a portion of the 2007 season racing in the NASCAR Grand National West Series.
