YAKIMA SPEEDWAY SCHEDULE TO
INCLUDE THE ARCA WEST CIRCLE K LMCS
May 18, 2008 Yakima, Washington – Yakima Speedway officials
announced today the amending of the 2008 schedule to include an
event for the ARCA West Circle K Late Model Challenge Series. The
race will take place on Labor Day Weekend. The exact format has yet
to be decided. The AW LMCS race will be held the same weekend as the
ASA Northwest Tour event already set for that weekend. Track owner,
Ted Pollock stated, “ We have had successful ASA Tour and LMCS races
in years past, and we look forward to another great event”. He goes
on to say, “ As the year has unfolded, we have been in communication
with the AW LMCS and have mutually agreed that a race at Yakima is
best, not only for Yakima, but for everyone involved”.
Ron Bennett, manager of Yakima Speedway and administrator for the
ASA Northwest Tour, arranged a very successful meeting with Jerry
Losch of the LMCS. All parties involved agreed that everyone will
benefit from a closer working relationship. Jerry Losch stated, “
It’s great to have the opportunity to schedule a race at Yakima
Speedway this season”. Losch goes on to say, “ Historically, our
previous Labor Day weekend events at Yakima have produced great
shows for the fans and drivers”.
The race will be held on the historic ˝ mile track on the weekend of
August 30-31. The exact day the Tour and the LMCS will race and the
distance of the events is to be determined soon. The only question
is what series will race on Saturday evening and what series will
race on Sunday evening. It is possible that a bonus purse will be
set up for
racers , as they have done in the past, choose to compete in both
events.
This event promises to be a great tune up for the Fall Classic that
is set for October 3-4-5.
